great parks and quick eats nearby for weekend strolls
The proximity to hayward japanese gardens and a few steps from caspers hot dogs made it easy to balance exploring and enjoying quick bites during my stay, which I truly appreciated as a weekend traveler. while the hotel has potential, it does need some updates.

The location had great walking access to multiple dining options, which was a huge plus. The bed, refrigerator, and shower provided a comfortable experience during my stay. However, numerous issues arose, including a weak WiFi connection and an overlooked lock on the door that left me feeling uneasy. The overall condition of the room could use significant improvement—with dirty carpet and an uncomfortable bed detracting from the experience.

Our family visit was lovely! The pool area was a hit with the kids, especially when we spent the afternoon splashing around. Having all our grown children together made the experience even more enjoyable as we shared laughs and memories.
My kids wished for more pillows in the room.

Some positives amid challenges
We faced issues like noisy neighbors and an unpleasant smell in the hallways. However, the bed was comfortable, and the front desk staff were friendly and accommodating. Future guests should consider bringing air fresheners and earplugs for a more pleasant stay. Not ideal, but not completely terrible.

It was just a smart choice for a weekend trip in Castro Valley with good value. The remote took a while to figure out, but once I got it working, I enjoyed the TV. Be sure to eat before checking in since the breakfast options are limited.

The room was pretty dated, but it was clean. I had a king smoking room, and while it smelled a bit like smoke, it wasn't too overpowering. The furniture looked old, though. The heater worked fine, but I could hear the folks upstairs walking around. Not much to say that's great, and breakfast options were pretty minimal if you can even call it that. Just a decent enough place to crash for a night.

missingWrote a review on Feb 22poor maintenance
Our stay had several frustrations. The AC unit barely worked, with no air circulation unless the window got cracked open. There was a persistent, unpleasant odor of weed in the hallways that seeped into the 'non-smoking' room, which left everything in my belongings smelling off. Plus, some furniture looked damaged or in a state of disrepair, and the restroom had a few issues, including a tub that didn't feel clean and a weak toilet flush. The atmosphere felt sketchy, with some questionable characters lingering in the parking lot, making it hard to relax.
